Rugby Photographer of the Year winners announced

The six category winners for the 2022 Rugby Photographer of the Year with Keith Prowse have been announced

Images from Uganda, Australia, America, Spain and UK are among the category winners for this year’s Rugby Photographer of the Year with Keith Prowse.

More than 600 entries were whittled down to 60 last month when the shortlists were announced. All shortlisted entries will appear in an exhibition at Twickenham’s World Rugby Museum from 26thMay, 2022.

The six category winners will all be considered for the grand prix prize of £1,000 cash and a £2,000 VIP Keith Prowse hospitality package for England v South Africa at Twickenham later this year. This will be announced at a special, invite-only event at the World Rugby Museum, Twickenham on 25th May, 2022.

Due to the strength of entrants, three entries were highly commended in recognition of their work, although will not go through to the final round.

Chair of the judges and Editor-in-Chief of Rugby Journal, Alex Mead, said of the competition. “Every category has been fiercely contested and the fact we have winners from five different nations reflects the international nature of the competition. 

“Selecting the winners was very tough for our panel of judges and the shortlist was full of potential candidates, but those chosen – including Action, decided by public vote – are all incredible works of art.

“Every category winner had its supporters among the judges for the grand prix prize, and we can’t wait to reveal our overall winner on Wednesday 25th May.”
